Get ready for a culinary adventure like no other! Disneyland's Napa Rose, a renowned fine dining establishment, is set to reopen its doors after an extensive renovation, and we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek. This award-winning restaurant, known for its seasonal delights and extensive wine collection, is about to unveil a reimagined dining experience, marking its 25th anniversary.
Our team at Mickey Visit had the pleasure of experiencing the newly renovated Napa Rose, and we're excited to share our insights with you. The restaurant has truly gone above and beyond to create an unforgettable dining journey. From space mountain ride closures to exciting new Disney Visa Card launches, we keep you updated on all the latest Disney news.
Napa Rose, nestled within Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, is a gem that deserves its own spotlight. We were invited to a media preview, and it was an evening to remember. The restaurant will officially reopen on February 6, 2026, led by the talented Chef Andrew Sutton and Executive Chef Clint Chin.
But here's where it gets interesting... Nicholas Hockman, the general manager, shared a fascinating insight. He mentioned that Napa Rose often serves as a guest's first fine dining experience, and the team strives to create an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere, free from intimidation. And we can vouch for that! The renovation, coupled with the warm and knowledgeable Cast Members, achieves this balance perfectly.
If you're new to fine dining, Napa Rose is the ideal gateway. The newly renovated space exudes a beautiful, inviting atmosphere, making you feel right at home. With 100% of the Cast Members returning after the nine-month closure, you can expect a truly special dining experience.
Our server, Wendy, a 25-year veteran of Napa Rose, was exceptional. She embodies the warmth and expertise of the Cast Members, ensuring a delightful dining journey. We highly recommend requesting her as your server; she's a true asset to the restaurant.
The renovated space draws inspiration from Northern Californian Arts and Crafts, paying homage to the colors and textures of Napa Valley. The main dining room offers a four-course tasting menu, allowing guests to select from a variety of options. Design elements, such as a chandelier modeled after the Mission Vine and wooden columns reminiscent of wine barrels, add to the charm.
The warm woods, cork, stone, and leather create a cozy and intriguing ambiance. For an exclusive experience, guests can dine at the Chef's Counter, offering a unique view of the exhibition kitchen. The newly renovated bar and lounge provide a cozy setting with a new fireplace and alfresco dining on the outdoor patio. In the lounge, guests can enjoy small plates and a separate à la carte menu, perfectly paired with an extensive wine and cocktail selection.
The cocktail menu has been reimagined, emphasizing seasonal ingredients and unique flavors. Each cocktail tells a story inspired by California's history and landmarks. And let's not forget the wine! Napa Rose boasts an impressive collection of over 13,000 bottles, including rare selections typically found in private cellars.
Now, let's dive into the delicious dishes we tried. From an amuse-bouche to three courses, an entrée, and dessert, it was a culinary journey. The Signature Mushroom Cappuccino, our amuse-bouche, was a delightful surprise, warming our palates with its savory foam and rich mushroom broth.
The first course, Sauteéd Seasonal Fish with lobster toast and lemon bubble, was light and flavorful, leaving us in awe. The American Wagyu N.Y., our second course, was a delightful combination of thinly sliced wagyu and grape mustardo, a true harmony of flavors.
The third course, Sorpesine Pasta with California Crab broth and Pacific Uni, was a creamy delight, paired perfectly with a crisp Chardonnay. For our entrées, we had the Sustainable Fish of the Day, a Swordfish dish that even impressed our fish-averse boyfriend, and the Roasted Boneless Colorado Rack of Lamb, a juicy and tender delight.
And for dessert, prepare to be amazed! The Elevated and Reminiscent Valhrona Chocolate Bar was a chocolate-hazelnut masterpiece, a fine dining take on a candy bar. It was, without a doubt, one of the best desserts we've ever tasted!
Chef Andrew Sutton shared his passion, stating that reopening Napa Rose is deeply personal. The team has thoughtfully evolved the restaurant while honoring its story, crafting a menu and wine program that showcases craftsmanship, seasonality, and an international perspective.
The updated Napa Rose offers an exceptional dining experience, perfect for intimate, upscale evenings. While it may be on the pricier side, it's definitely worth considering for special occasions or a luxurious dining splurge.
