The recommendation to shift to a trial federal grant model is a step in the right direction, but it is not enough. In my view, the Victorian government should reconsider its previous proposal to redevelop the crumbling Collingwood site with a new GP clinic and high-density social housing towers. This project has the potential to create a more sustainable and effective healthcare model for the community. The review panel's findings also highlight the need for reform in the Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS). The MBS is failing vulnerable populations, and this is a critical issue that needs to be addressed.
